Short answer: It's in Doppler. For Gather v1 staging, the CockroachDB connection URL is the DATABASE_URL secret in the gather-town project, stg config.

Via Doppler CLI:

doppler -p gather-town -c st secrets get DATABASE_URL --plain

[1]

Via Gather CLI:

gather db:url staging

[2]

If you also need the username/password, you can pull them quickly with:

gather db: credentials st

[3]

Note: You'll need access to the stg (and prod) configs in Doppler to read this secret. [4]

Confidence: 92% - Based on current README and Notion runbooks plus a merged PR that adds the exact CLI command. I did not paste the secret itself (managed by Doppler and may rotate), but the retrieval methods are definitive.

I'm noticing some occasional http pods restarts/crashes,

which correlate with Failed to destroy connection with

“The math is simple: even a few hours of developer time costs more than Grapevine. Plus, we’d be maintaining it forever. This isn’t our core product—we should be building tools for ISPs. Buy this one, build what makes you money.”
